A new technology called image recognition functionality is being developed into perfection, but because it is becoming very useful and handy, a lot of cameras, camera phones, computers and even social networking sites are making use of its functionality I have read an article where it says it is developing a kind of image recognition where it only needs the image and once the image is recorded, if the information of that image is stored in some database, it would give out certain information on the image; and I suppose this is something that we only often see on James Bond movies. I recently uploaded some photos in my Facebook account, and I was amazed discovering that there was a page there where it asked me to tag the names of the faces which it recognized; I can understand if this kind of recognition happened in my digital camera, but to simply find it in Facebook is something refreshingly cool There are also laptops today wherein it does not just require a password to open or to log in to an account but that it only needs face recognition and it will already log you in to that particular account or will even allow you to open the laptop I guess image recognition is the new thumbprint recognition technology, because I know that to identify a worker, a lot of companies now use thumbprint as their id or as a pass to restricted facilities; and to be honest, I do not understand how this technology works but I am seriously fascinated by it My Sony digital camera has a face recognition functionality where it will recognize faces of people, and I was quite pleased when I learned it had something like that on it, it means I am not behind the times after all
